Our guide was Eiréne, she was absolutely amazing. She answered any and all questions we had and she is bilingual (Spanish and English). She had amazing in depth knowledge of the history of Comuna 13 and even showed us photos of the Comuna from a decade ago. Also make sure you try the maracuya ice pops, they’re delicious. If you have to choose one thing to do in Medellín, make it this tour.

Perfect tour, explanation and everything

Great service, we had problems with a flight cancellation and arrived late, they were patient and gave us another guide at the time of our arrival, very valuable information and the local guide Mirley very friendly! We loved that she knew and greeted the local people in the commune as she lives there!

Eirine was a fantastic guide who led us on a tour through Communa 13. I started out on edge because of the numbers of touts, hawkers, and loud music, but Eirine got me to see beyond that surface impression. Through her descriptions of the brutal wars between guerillas, right wing death squads, and gangs, and unmarked graves and innocent victims, she showed how the strength of the people shone through. We saw how hiphop, graffiti, and street art were examples of resistance and resilience. Because we were a small group, Eirine had time to answer our many questions about class, poverty, women's reproductive rights and queer rights. While there are deep systemic issues that remain, I came away with a new appreciation for Colombia's advances, in particular what has been done in Comuna 13. This tour opened my
